A simple drawing ✍️ can bi press on every item came out from the studio. A logo and some labeling will be needed for every output, online accounts, pricing tags 🏷️

Today I tried a new technique that I wanted to try for so many years. Cut out on rubber.

First I tried to press on white letter paper. It was a bit too hard to get a fine press on paper with a rolling handle, I think it is my paper that is not good. I should get a proper paper to try on before getting disappointed ☹️

But under my new lightening they don’t look that bad. 😊

Another week has ended. I feel happy for the upcoming one ☝️

  • Modeling techniques

I added new recyclable plastic jars πŸ«™ in my models and made them even bigger and sturdier.

I guess they still need a thin layer of waterproof paper mache clay on top.

Mashed paper balls can be used as lids, and can be a style carrier for all my models.

  • Looking for a style πŸ‘€

I sketch ✍️ my models down and add decorations on them.

    I got 2 styles and 2 models.

    Pop-punk

2 models with horns, dots, and stripes.

Colored in black, white, and browns.

    Ancient lines

2 models decorated with thin and thick lines, crossing over.

Colored in terracotta over dirty white.

  • Music 🎢 on

I have this broken record player cabinet πŸ“¦ sitting in my basement for a while.

Today I have broken it down and able to open its lucked doors for the first time.

Unfortunately no any hidden treasure has found. πŸ˜… My plan is to use it as a liquor cabinet 🍸 or a modern music cabinet 🎼

    There are a lot of work like;

    • Cleaning 🧼
    • Sanding
    • Re-building
    • Paint 🎨 Vanish

Let’s see how long will it take and what will come out 😬

  • Second week of second month

Is it a milestone? I guess so.

I changed my recipe in to recycled paper mache clay with a search online

Before trying to add Portland cement in my mixture to make it water resistant, first I go with the original recipe. Because I am not sure πŸ€” how to wash 🧼 the cement out of the house without giving any damage on plumbing πŸͺ  😫 Plus, Portland cement and joint compound are not so cheap. I want to practice on my models first, and I will cover them with water resistant paste afterwards, when I feel happy 😊 with the final look. 🏺

I covered a meatball technique plate.

    I covered a pawn β™ŸοΈ

I covered an aluminum ball 🌎

    Meatball technique

Once they were dried, my meatball plate technique failed with an unpleasant result.

But when I covered it over with the original paper clay recipe, it looks more like a pottery. πŸ’• ❀️

This technique can let me sculpture any ancient vase 🏺 model from museums. I can stock them up form as the vase and then cover it with clay and smooth the surface,

Now I let them dry and start to plan my week:

    Monday :

    • Gym πŸ™ˆ,
    • Laundry 🧺,
    • Night Shift 🌚

    Tuesday:

    • Gym πŸ™ˆ,
    • Watering πŸ’¦ πŸͺ΄
    • Night Shift 🌚

    Wednesday :

    • Play day / All day 🧸
    • Day Shift 🌞

    Thursday:

    • Play day / All day 🧸
    • Day Shift 🌞

    Friday :

    • Paint 🎨
    • Gym πŸ™ˆ,
    • Night Shift 🌚

  • A birthday πŸ₯³ surprise
  • Chess β™ŸοΈ Mache

Once I check and clean my desk, I’ve started my chess set project, Chess β™ŸοΈ Mache

    Pawn β™ŸοΈ

I wasn’t sure enough about my pawn which I will need to copy 18! So this model should be more attractive and easy doing.

I also don’t like the size and details of the head. I will try something different.

    Knight 🎠

I got the bottom of my first Knight and I built the helmet πŸͺ– I can’t be sure if I could be able to do it twice with the same way. But theses pictures can give me some clue.

After drying my knight isn’t looking very good πŸ˜” I can fix it with my new recipe but I’m not sure if it’s worth it or I can try a different way on my second knight.

  • Monday

    Here comes 🌞 Monday.

I lost what I’ve barely saw once. It was o long break and it looks like it will last a lot longer.

Meanwhile I can only plan, watch videos and take notes πŸ“ that’s what I do.

I am planning to change my mache recipes to water proof paper mache clay.

I can work more detailed and get smooth surfaces. Also I can be able to build for outdoors.

What I want is to build big sculptures that are useful, like feeding birds, holding flowers, showing a way or giving energy and light πŸ’‘

Because that I leave in the πŸͺ΄ Garden States, I want to sculpture for gardens.

I want to try πŸ’‘ some β˜€οΈ solar paneled outdoor sculptures that has a plug πŸ”Œ and light πŸ’‘

I can start displaying my work on my front door πŸšͺ which is on a crossroad. And I can try selling online.

Mondays are not enough in anyways. Let’s go on.

  • Hands πŸ™Œ clean πŸ§Ό

My plan is not sitting home 🏠 but going to the town and get online πŸ’» in a coffee β˜•οΈ shop – boxwood πŸ“¦ coffee in Westfield, NJ

I could have pedicap my kid to school 🏫 but my bike 🚴 is broken 😞 no way to fix it, it is dead πŸ’€

But the actual question πŸ™‹β€β™€οΈ is not how I go there but what I do?

    Hanim Sultan πŸ“‚

An online shop of Turkish towels

    B2B project

This is a B2B project of an old friend that I want to take a part. Because that the product itself is for home textile, I’m much more interested in the sub products like candles πŸ•―οΈ and soaps, little stools or hangers made of wood πŸͺ΅. Some organic sponges 🧽

I love the concept of Turkish bathing πŸ›€ Hammams. So authentic, fresh, clean ✨

Bathrooms has always been my favorite room at home. In my fine art education my final project was a sink inspired by an almond.

I also love the concept of outside showers 🚿 in green. πŸ’‘ Which can be my idea for photo shoots.

Hanim Sultan will sell the towels with a minimum amount. And also display some unique, handmade pieces.

I can make everything around Hanim Sultan and my B2B sell will support me and my store,

I can also cooperate with brands like paints, brushes or even Amazon.

I can pickup πŸ›» some free or old pieces from around neighborhood, thrift shops and rebuild them into special pieces.

Now, I can work on hand πŸ–οΈ and online at the same time.

  • One ☝️ Love β€οΈ

We get to share it. Leaves you baby if you don’t care for it.

We are going to New York for weekend.

It’s been an active week of house keeping and lots of family time. Mostly during garden πŸͺ΄ renovation.

But what am I really want to do?

    Getting down to work?

No, not that. I know that this is my family time before this long vacation. This seedling 🌱 family of 3 together, building their very own garden. I’m proud of what we are doing together. This act together reminds me why this is my family, and how we belong to each other to make a hole. I love ❀️ my family and so happy πŸ˜ƒ to be together.

I need to pack for myself and for Derin. I need to pack foods, snacks, drinks…. I need to go!
